adidas quietly switched gears from its classic shell-toe to its oft-overlooked Forum at the tail-end of 2020. For one of its first collections of the new year, the brand has prepped three styles of the ’84 silhouette under the “Girls Are Awesome” concept.
Clad in a Los Angeles Lakers-friendly color palette, the three options offer familiar, but refreshing propositions. Hi and Lo-trims feature the brand’s initiative embroidered onto the lateral midfoot, while hairy swaths take over surrounding paneling and the shoes’ signature lockdown strap. As part of the capsule, adidas has created a new version of the once-basketball-staple: the Platforum. The model’s upper mostly resembles its original counterpart, but sole units have been exaggerated with a platform look.
The Forum Lo “Girls Are Awesome” collection arrives to European stockists on February 18th. An adidas.com launch is set to occur on March 3rd.
